The fabric is built from technologies whose failure behavior can be understood and whose configuration can be treated as code: reviewed, versioned, and verified against the running state.
VLAN segmentation encodes the trust model. Management, storage, workload, and access traffic are separated deliberately, so a compromise or a fault in one plane does not become an estate-wide event.

Juniper switching in the core and distribution roles, chosen for configuration discipline and predictable behavior. OPNsense provides routing, firewalling, and edge services as open-source infrastructure that can be audited and automated.
UniFi access layers where they fit the requirement, integrated into the same segmentation and monitoring model as everything else.

Verification
Network state is observable and verified: interface health, path redundancy, and configuration drift are measured, because a topology diagram is a claim and only telemetry makes it evidence.
Failure rehearsal applies here first: links are pulled and devices restarted deliberately, so convergence behavior is a known quantity instead of incident-day folklore.
